Bad eyes kept Lee Lauderback from becoming an Air Force pilot, but he never lost …
Dick Powers was a pilot with Eastern Airlines, flying during the Golden Age of airline travel. His career was a meteoric success, and he rose to a management position. Then the bottom fell out – Eastern went out of business.
Dick’s can-do attitude enabled him to make lemonade out of lemons, and he resurrected his airline career with FEDEX as a freight pilot. After a second successful career, he was forced to retire due to the airline pilot age limitation. He parlayed his extensive airline experience to a position as an auditor, conducting International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audits (IOSAs).
Dick now travels the world, conducting audits of airlines, leading audit teams, and meeting with airline CEOs.
